Following the unexplained death of Gifty Kyere, a final-year student, in her boyfriend’s room in Jinijini, Ghana’s Bono Region, tragedy has befallen Sunyani Nursing and Midwifery Training College.
According to reports, the 28-year-old student had left home the day before the event, saying she was going to get her personal items and tuition expenses back. Her family and community are in mourning following her untimely demise.
When he found out that Gifty had left to visit her boyfriend rather than coming home as she had promised, her father, Pastor Kyere Jonathan of the Agape Evangelical Church in Jinijini, was shocked.

Edmond Ayomah, the boyfriend, is now on the loose and is 23 years old. He is still at large, despite reports that he has contacted others with plans to turn himself in to the police.
Ayomah allegedly stated that he was unable to transport Gifty to the hospital and that she passed away due to an unexpected asthma attack. Authorities, however, have questioned his explanation.
Investigators believe that Gifty’s abrupt death may have been caused by coercion to end a pregnancy, according to unverified claims.
As concerns about the actual reason of Gifty’s death grow, police have opened a thorough investigation into the incident and are searching for Ayomah.
