Four Super Falcons Stars Named to WAFCON 2024 Best XI

The 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) Best XI features four exceptional players from Nigeria’s Super Falcons: Rasheedat Ajibade, Michelle Alozie, Esther Okoronkwo, and Chiamaka Nnadozie.
The aforementioned players reportedly contributed to the Super Falcons’ historic 10th WAF victory.
It should be noted that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Technical Study Group announced the 2024 WAFCON team of the tournament, which honors the best players from each of the teams that competed in the just finished tournament.

In the hard-fought final against hosts Morocco, Nigeria’s goalie, Chiamaka Nnadozie, was a rock in goal, maintaining four clean sheets in six games and giving up just two goals from open play.

She won the title of Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament for her dependability and dominant presence.

Michelle Alozie was selected the competition’s finest right-back on the defensive end. In five of Nigeria’s six games, the Houston Dash defender was crucial, using both offensive thrust and defensive tenacity to hold opponents at bay.

The WAFCON 2024 Best XI Names Four Super Falcons Stars

The AFC Toronto winger Esther Okoronkwo’s brilliant performances lighted up the tournament. She received two Woman of the Match awards and produced two goals and six assists.

Rasheedat Ajibade, the captain of the Super Falcons, was selected the Most Valuable Player (MVP) after an incredible competition.

With one goal, two assists, and three Woman of the Match accolades, the Atletico Madrid attacker was the lifeblood of the Nigerian midfield. Her perseverance and leadership were essential to Nigeria’s run to the championship game.
