Funke Akindele Speaks Out: I Nearly Lost My Mind Over Online Abuse
After a member of the cast of “Jenifa’s” Dairy, Jumoke Aderounmu, died, Nollywood actress and movie producer Funke Akindele has spoken out about how she nearly lost her mental health as a result of comments she received on social media.
According to reports, the actress stated she is a strong woman who is conscious of insults and abuse on social media during the first Live episode of the “WithChude” podcast.
However, because she was depressed at the time, she couldn’t handle the comments she received on social media as a result of Jumoke’s death.

The actress-turned-politician acknowledged the accusation that she neglected Jumoke prior to her death by taking her phone, going into a room, and going live on Instagram.
“I notice all the profanity on social media,” she remarked. and I’m a tough lady, but there came a point when I nearly lost my mind when someone accused me of something I didn’t do for the death of an actress from “Jenifa,” claiming that I failed to assist her. and my own depression was already present. So that Juliana and the others couldn’t open the door, I grabbed my phone, went inside, and closed the door.
Some individuals shut their doors and then commit suicide. To go on live video, I’m grateful that I just locked the door.
