Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, the governor of Benue State, has authorized the establishment of new statutory bodies as part of his administration’s initiatives to improve institutional effectiveness and encourage sustainable development throughout the state.
The Public Procurement Commission and the Teaching Hospital of Benue State University are two of the recently reorganized bodies.
Dr. Stephen Hwande is Chief Medical Director and Prof. Malu Orkurga Abraham is Chairman of the Benue State University Teaching Hospital.
Other members include the Vice Chancellor’s representative, the Provost of the College of Health Sciences, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Council, representatives of the medical profession, and Mr. Terhemba Ingyomon, Dr. Emmanuel Orhemba Baki, and Rt. Hon. Frank Adejor Audu.
The Executive Governor will chair the Public Procurement Commission, and Dr. Aper Emmanuel Zava will be its Director General. The commissioners and the deputy governor are also commissioners.
In carrying out their duties, Governor Alia advised the recently appointed officials to draw on their extensive expertise, dedication, and professionalism.
His administration’s blueprint, “A Strategic Development Plan for a Greater Benue,” which summarizes his seven-point program under the abbreviation SACHIIP, is what he reminded them to base their work on.
