Herdsmen Attack in Nasarawa Leaves Woman Maimed, Community Devastated
On Saturday, suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked a peaceful farming settlement in the Barki Abdullahi (BAD) village in Lafia Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, leaving a woman with her hand cut. This attack caused panic.
The attackers, who are still unidentified, are said to have ambushed farmers while they were working on their fields, seriously injuring a number of locals.
The woman was one of those sent to a neighboring clinic for emergency care after having her hand severed with a machete.
“Heartbreaking and unprovoked,” according to a community member named Esla, who confirmed the occurrence.
He urged security services to move quickly and make sure the assailants are taken into custody before things get worse.
Fear has already spread throughout the entire neighborhood, according to Esla, and locals are concerned about more attacks.
In order to save lives and property and reestablish a sense of security in the neighborhood, he pleaded with the authorities to immediately send out security guards.
Authorities have not yet issued a remark on the matter as of the time of this article.
