In Bauchi, FRSC Special Marshals Elect New Executives

The newly chosen executives who will lead the FRSC’s arm for the next two years have been sworn in by the Federal Road Safety Corps’ (FRSC) Bauchi State Special Marshal Sector Command.

A voluntary branch of the FRSC, the Special Marshals are made up of people who commit their time and personal resources to advancing road safety across the country, mostly through public education and advocacy.

Godwin Obioha, the newly appointed State Coordinator, is one of those who was inaugurated. Janet Tenebe will be the State Secretary, assisted by Kamaldeen Isah, while Suleiman Idris will act as Deputy State Coordinator.

Vincent Eke will be the Treasurer, and Adamu Ya’u was sworn in as the Financial Secretary. Ishola Michael Adeyemi will be the Public Enlightenment and Education Officer (PEO), while the other members are Ibrahim M. Azare as Auditor, Louise Igwe as Welfare Officer, Justice Bello Mohammed, Provost, and others.

Godwin Obioha, the State Coordinator, praised the members for their maturity before, during, and after the elections in his post-inauguration speech, emphasizing that “it was a family affair, no victor, no vanquish.” We are and will continue to be one.

“We have a new leadership in place after the elections, and I am asking for your cooperation and support so that we can move forward constructively as a team.”

As a regimental organization, the Special Marshal will protect the Corps’ integrity and discipline. Every member needs to prepare for the task at hand. Our goal is to save lives and make the roads in Bauchi State safer, thus we must put our all into serving humanity. He stated

The new EXCO members were administered oaths of office and allegiance by the Zonal Coordinator, Barr Abdullahi Jumba, who reminded them that the oath is a commitment to serve mankind and should not be tampered with.

He urged them to maintain the integrity of the Corps at all times and entrusted them with making sure they didn’t violate the Members’ faith in them.

Speaking as well, Sector Commander CC Istifanus Ibrahim expressed his satisfaction with the rancour-free behavior and praised the election’s mood.

The Sector Commander, who was present during the exercise, emphasized that the Special Marshal is actively contributing to the creation of a safer road in the State and guaranteed the Sector Command of its cooperation.
