Primate Elijah Ayodele, the leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has counseled President Bola Ahmed Tinubu against pleading with US President Donald Trump on the latest military threats against Nigeria because of alleged Christian killings.
In a statement issued by his media assistant, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele advised Tinubu to address insecurity as soon as possible, as it would impact his chances in 2027, rather than putting himself in a situation where he would be at the mercy of the US President.
The prophet disclosed that he had foreseen years ago that Tinubu’s government would be impacted by insecurity, but he had been disregarded.
He warned that the president would face dire consequences if he did not act swiftly to resolve the matter.
“Don’t travel to go and beg Trump; he wants to make money,” stated Primate Ayodele. Instead of being at his mercy, Tinubu ought to turn to God and deal with his insecurity.
“All he needs to do is wake up and make sure he tackles security well; I have stated that insecurity will cost his government a lot.”
The prophet claimed that Nigeria’s problem goes beyond genocide and that Trump is merely using it as a pretext to bargain for Nigeria’s riches.
He advised Tinubu to exercise patience since he would be presented with a variety of possibilities, and he must exercise caution to prevent making the incorrect choice.
Nigeria’s situation is beyond genocide. The US wants to negotiate with Tinubu for Nigeria’s resources, but Tinubu has never been Trump’s friend.
“They will give Tinubu different options, but he must not do the wrong thing, so this matter needs to be addressed with patience,” he stated.
He clarified that Nigeria can resolve its issues if the government is prepared, pointing out that Trump’s worries are unfounded.
“Nigeria is the only country capable of resolving its issues; others cannot do it for Nigeria. Trump is only interested in making money; he is not God. He is an oppressor.
“The threat was needless; the US should cooperate with the Nigerian government if they have a legitimate mission.”
