The French forward Kylian Mbappé stated that he and Vinícius Júnior are not at odds, stating that they have a solid connection and are working together to bring championships back to Real Madrid.
Kylian Mbappé stated in an interview with Movistar Plus+ that since the Brazilian winger moved to Madrid, their friendship has changed, becoming closer on and off the field.
“My relationship with Vinícius is excellent. We got to know one another much better this year. He’s a fantastic player and a wonderful person overall,” Mbappé remarked.
After Madrid’s erratic performances the previous season, there were rumors of conflict between the two, with supporters and analysts wondering if their comparable playing styles could coexist. However, Mbappé dismissed those rumors, claiming that they were just a typical aspect of life at one of the top clubs in the world.
“The same team’s two well-known players sell a lot of papers. We are aware that people frequently discuss us,” he clarified. “I normalize it because, although I hope it never occurs, I’ll say it’s serious the day there’s a true problem. And people will pay attention and realize that I’m serious. This isn’t serious. This isn’t serious in the life of a Real Madrid player or a great football player.
After a dismal 2024–2025 season, Mbappé claims he and Vinícius are totally focused on getting the squad back to winning ways now that they are settled at the Bernabéu.
“We are aware that everyone criticizes us for everything, but our shared objective is to assist Real Madrid in winning championships. We must give it our all and support the entire team if we hope to win,” he continued.
The two have had much better on-field chemistry thus far. This season, they have already scored three goals in the same league game, almost matching the number from the previous campaign. With 14 goals in all competitions, Mbappé leads the team, and Vinícius contributes seven goals.
Real Madrid is leading La Liga going into the October international break thanks to their performance.
Away from Madrid, Mbappé also discussed Lamine Yamal, Barcelona’s teenage sensation, and urged people to give the young player room to develop.
