On Friday, the Special Public Works section of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) officially launched a three-month training program for 110 participants in Edo state.
The program is being implemented under the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Employment Initiative Phase 2 (RHEI2), according to Mr. James Ikhanoba, the Edo State Coordinator, who spoke on behalf of NDE Director General, DG, His Excellency, Silas Ali Agara.
The beneficiaries would receive training in four distinct professions, according to State Coordinator Mr. James Ikhanoba, who made this revelation during his speech at the orientation ceremony for the 110 participants in Benin City on Friday.
He stated that the four professions are the Special Public Works (SPW) Department’s Environmental Beautification Training Scheme (EBTS), Solar Energy Training Scheme (SETS), Artisans In Collaborative Construction Employment Scheme (ACCES), and Graduate Attachment Program (GAP).
Ikhanoba said that the four (4) training programs are labor-based and temporary, lasting three (3) months (September through December, 2025).
In hindsight, you may know that the Federal Government of Nigeria (FGN) established the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) to address widespread unemployment and provide job opportunities for individuals of all social classes, regardless of age, educational attainment, religious beliefs, or social standing, he said.
The EBTS, SETS, ACCES, and GAP are a subset of the many schemes that the Directorate implements in order to fulfill this admirable objective.
