NDLEA Condemns Pretty Mike’s Actions, Says ‘They Had the Audacity to Invite People to Commit Crime’

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has revealed the cause of Pretty Mike’s arrest in a nightclub.

Remember how it was claimed that Pretty Mike and others were arrested in a nightclub?

According to a statement released by the Agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, any event planned with the intention of consuming, distributing, or misusing illegal substances is illegal.

According to Babafemi, the NDLEA conducted a raid at a drug party that took place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, into the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Proxy Night Club, which is located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. Over 100 people were taken into custody during the raid, along with the facility’s owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, also known as Pretty Mike, and his manager, Joachin Millary.

He cautioned nightclub owners and partygoers that planning, hosting, and attending drug parties is prohibited.

“These ‘drug parties’ violate the explicit provisions of the NDLEA Act and will be treated as serious narcotic offenses,” the statement states.

“The organizers of the drug party at Proxy Night Club went above and beyond by creating and distributing flyers inviting people looking for fun to get together and commit crimes. This is not only an incitement to commit crime, but it is also an insult to the nation’s law enforcement capabilities if it is tolerated.

“Drug misuse is currently a major problem in Nigeria, especially among our young people. In addition to feeding the drug epidemic, these illegal drug parties actively thwart our existing national initiatives to protect public health and security and work as recruitment centers for new drug addicts.

“In the most recent instance, the NDLEA was thorough and competent both before and during the raid. After receiving information about the party, our undercover agents monitored the venue, pre-purchased illegal drugs from within the club, and watched and documented drug transactions and abuse for four hours during the party, from 11 p.m. on Saturday to 3 a.m. on Sunday. Eventually, we stopped the blatant public display of illegality and made arrests.

“The two main suspects, Pretty Mike and his manager, Joachin Millary, are still in custody after 384.882 kilograms of Canadian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis and other substances, were seized from the club’s store. All attendees who were initially arrested were later profiled, addressed, counselled, and released within hours in custody, in accordance with best global practices.

“Owners of properties, hotels, and event venues found to be knowingly hosting such illegal activities run the risk of having their assets seized and forfeited to the Federal Government, even though the Agency will step up surveillance and use the full force of the law against offenders.” We will sue for the confiscation of the property, Proxy Night Club, where the drugs were discovered, and those detained in the ongoing case will be prosecuted.

“In order to combat this threat to national well-being, the Agency urges all patriotic Nigerians, parents, religious and community leaders, and concerned citizens to be vigilant, report such activities, and collaborate with the NDLEA.”
