Nollywood Actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, ‘Baba Gebu,’ Passes Away
Following the passing of well-known veteran actor Prince Oyewole Olowomojuore, also known as Baba Gebu, the Nollywood industry is in a state of grief.
According to reports, Nollywood star Kunle Afod used his Instagram profile to announce the sad death of Baba Gebu.
Kunle Afod expressed sorrow at the film star’s passing.
Afod called Baba Gebu a magnificent legend in the heartfelt message, emphasizing that he died on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, following a fight with an unidentified ailment.
Kunle Afod prayed that the legend’s kind spirit would rest in peace while displaying various images of the departed.
“It saddens my heart as I announce the passing of our great legend, a great actor who passed away this evening after a brief illness,” he wrote. BABA GEBU May you rest in peace.
Baba Gebu contributed to numerous significant productions over his lengthy and illustrious career in the Nigerian film business, especially in Yoruba-language cinema.
He discussed his wife’s passing in public in 2024, explaining that going back to active acting helped him deal with and prevent depression.
Afod was among the many Nollywood stars that encouraged him to pursue his career in film.
