Four coaches have been nominated by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) for the March Manager of the Month award.
Rivers United’s Finidi George, Plateau United’s Mbwas Mangut, Akwa United’s Kennedy Boboye, and Bayelsa United’s Ladan Bosso are the nominees for the NPFL Manager of the Month award.
With three victories and one draw in the last month, Rivers United has maintained its second-place standing in the NPFL standings under the capable leadership of Finidi George.
With three victories and a tie in the same time frame, Mbwas Mangut has successfully guided Plateau United out of the relegation zone.
Despite being in 18th place with 37 points in the league table, Akwa United has managed to win four of their last five games thanks to Kennedy Boboye’s strategic acumen.
At Bayelsa United, Ladan Bosso has also had a significant influence, leading the side to three victories and two draws in an undefeated month.
A group of Nigerian football experts will choose the Manager of the Month winner, who will be revealed the following week.
Despite a recent loss against Rivers United, Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede is still hopeful about his team’s chances of winning the championship.
Ogunmodede said he was certain they could regain momentum in the last few games of the season, even if this defeat cut their lead at the top of the table to five points.
On Wednesday, the Sky Blue Stars will play the Lobi Stars in a rescheduled matchday 30 contest. Ogunmodede is driven to win all of their remaining home games.

The Lobi Stars’ Scandal of Match-fixing
The NPFL board is treating Lobi Stars’ claims of betting and match-fixing seriously off the field.
In a recent interview, Emmanuel Ujah, the club’s media officer, voiced his displeasure with the team’s current standings and raised these issues. He offered potential ways to improve the problem by reorganizing the management and team.

A Lobi Stars player responded to the accusations by defending the team’s moral character and blaming their difficulties on internal strife rather than on-field wrongdoing.
The player, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Punch, “Players are never happy to lose matches; it’s important for management to unite and focus on the game.”
Davidson Owumi, the NPFL’s chief operating officer, promised that an internal investigation is in progress to fully address these allegations. He underlined the dedication to taking a neutral stance and putting preventative measures in place going future.
With only 24 points from 31 games, Lobi Stars are now at the bottom of the league table after struggling to win since December 14. This season, the club’s predicament has been made more difficult by off-field difficulties such as frequent managerial changes and facility problems.
