Mr. Ella Aji Williams, the National Youth Service Corps’ (NYSC) Taraba State Coordinator, has urged corps members assigned to the state to represent NYSC ideals in their host communities.
During the conclusion ceremony of the 2025 Batch “C” Stream I Orientation Course on Tuesday, the state’s Ardo-Kola local government council made the announcement.
Williams emphasized that the service year gives chances for both national and personal development while praising the corps members for their excellent behavior throughout the orientation, pointing out their discipline, respect, and excitement in camp activities.
In sectors including education, health, the environment, agriculture, and community empowerment, he urged the corps members to actively participate in community development initiatives that tackle pressing issues.
Williams acknowledged the governor of Taraba State’s support for the NYSC program and counseled the corps members to approach their host communities with humility, respect, and a willingness to serve.
“Taraba State has a lot of promise, a variety of cultures, and kind people. You represent the NYSC, and your behavior will be consistent with the Scheme’s ideals,” he stated.
He also advised corps members to put security first, steer clear of needless dangers, abide by local laws and customs, and keep lines of communication open with employers, coworkers, and State NYSC management.
“Your safety continues to be our top priority,” Williams continued, exhorting them to contribute significantly and leave a positive legacy wherever they go.
