Prof. Pat Utomi, a political economist, believes that anyone above 70 shouldn’t run for governor or president.

During an interview on Channels Television’s “Politics Today,” Prof. Utomi made this claim on Thursday in response to questioning.

He was giving a speech about Nigerian public office campaigns.

“I’m adamant that I tell Nigerians that no one above 70 should compete for any administrative office, including president or governor.

Indeed, some members of the legislature may serve until they are 75 or even close to 80 years old. However, the Nigerian people must stop allowing the presidency to house those in need of medical care.

He stated, “Doing so is at the great expense of the Nigerian taxpayer, who is not receiving the quality of services they should receive from these public office holders.”
