Pere Egbi, a reality TV personality, has expressed his opinions about the condition of African filmmaking.
The actor reportedly noted in a Twitter post that South Africa today has a competitive advantage over Nollywood in areas like work ethics, storytelling, and production.
The former Big Brother Naija contestant revealed that South Africa has made notable strides in production quality and industry norms, even as Nollywood has continued to expand and get international attention.
Egbi emphasized the value of cooperation between the two sectors, claiming that it would enhance African cinema’s reputation internationally.
He wrote: “I don’t mean to offend my Nollywood peers, but when it comes to filmmaking, storytelling, film production, work ethics, and everything else, South Africa is far ahead of us.” They have the upper hand. We must work together!
In other events, Ghanaian actor Mawuli Gavor has disclosed the reasons for his decision to leave his business position at the international accounting firm KPMG in order to devote himself entirely to his profession in entertainment.
Gavor revealed in an interview with the Blackvolta Podcast that at first he made an effort to juggle his work at KPMG with early-morning modeling and photo session obligations.
He was making 770 cedis a month at the time, according to Naija News, and was finding it difficult to balance the demands of both worlds.
