The 37-year-old singer drew attention on Monday, May 5th, 2025, when she was seen leaving her New York City hotel en route to the Met Gala, proudly exhibiting her baby bulge.
Rihanna & A$AP Rocky, who started dating in 2020, already has two sons: RZA, age two, and Riot, who is one. This year, Rocky is also a co-host of the famed fashion show.
The couple originally announced their pregnancy in January 2022, with a heartfelt photo shoot in New York. Rihanna wore a pink jacket that exposed her baby bulge, and Rocky matched her with blue. Their first son, RZA Athelston Mayers, was born in May 2022.
Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy during her Super Bowl halftime show in February 2023, wearing a bright red outfit. She gave birth to their second son, Riot Rose Mayers, in August of that year.
Rihanna has frequently remarked about the profound effect motherhood has had on her. In a February interview with Harper’s Bazaar, she revealed that her children now affect every move she makes.
“So I have a strange anger toward the things I adore. You almost feel as if something is always suffering for you to appear somewhere,” she said. “And even when you get there, it’s not perfect because there’s something else on the wheel. It’s actually increased my sense of self-guilt. I don’t like letting people down, but I also know that much of that is me letting myself down, which means something has to change, but everything is on the wheel at all times.”
“I have to keep reminding myself that I asked for this, I love this,” she added of parenthood. “I try to figure out a balance so that I can feel fulfilled when I show up to something, so I can feel I don’t have any guilt.”
The “Umbrella” singer also discussed her sons’ individual traits.

“RZA is just an empath,” she explained of her firstborn. “He’s incredibly magical. He enjoys music. He enjoys melody. He adores literature. He enjoys water. Bath time, swimming, pool, beach, whatever.”
Meanwhile, Riot is “hilarious,” according to Rihanna.
“When he wakes up, he starts squealing and screaming. Not in a weeping manner. “He just wants to sing,” she explained about her second child. “And I’m like, ‘Okay, here we go!’ He’s my alarm in the morning! He will not take no for an answer from anyone. I’m not sure where he came from, buddy.
Rihanna also told Harper’s Bazaar that the “best thing” about Rocky is seeing him become a father.
“I’m annoyed because my sons sometimes just live for him more than they live for me,” she told me. “And I asked, ‘Did you know who cooked you? Do you know who pushed you out? And people adore him, but when I see it, it’s the finest.
