Benibo Anabraba, the secretary of the Rivers State Government, has formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Anabraba sent the PDP chairman of Ward 1 in the Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State a letter dated January 5, 2026, outlining his decision.
In the letter, he expressed gratitude for the platform, support, and political chances the party provided him throughout his tenure as a member, but he also noted that his resignation was due to personal reasons.
His future political move was not revealed in the letter.
Nonetheless, trustworthy sources indicate that the former PDP leader would soon join the ruling All Progressives Congress, or APC.
