According to Dr. Sam Amadi, the director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, President Bola Tinubu has a good chance of winning the Middle Belt in the general elections in 2027 if specific political conditions are met.
In a tweet on his X Twitter on Saturday, Amadi, a former Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), made the forecast.
Amadi thinks that political maneuvers between the president and Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, will be crucial to Tinubu’s prospects in the Middle Belt.
“They are facilitating Tinubu’s Middle Belt victory.” He stated, “I will call the zone for Tinubu, and it depends on just two games from Tinubu and Peter Obi.”
Isa Pantami, the former minister of communications and digital economy, defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), which has led to a lot of conjecture.
He said that these political reorganizations will probably make it easier for Tinubu to gain support in the Middle Belt before 2027.
According to reports, the Middle Belt has frequently been considered a swing region in Nigerian electoral politics, and in previous presidential elections, its voting patterns have been crucial.
