Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the suspended Kogi Central Senator, has denied that she apologised to the Nigerian Senate leadership for the conduct that led to her suspension.
Akpoti-Uduaghan issued a statement on Monday, March 24, calling the reports incorrect and misleading.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that she stands firm in her actions and statements about the situation that led to her suspension, and that she has never apologized to the Senate or any individual on the matter.
She stated, “The spreading rumors that I have apologized to the Senate and revoked my position are entirely false. I stand firm in my comments and actions, and I have made no apologies to the Senate or anyone else about this.
She also termed the assertions as sad, pointing out that certain people are intent on misrepresenting the truth and misleading the public.
Akpoti-Uduaghan stated that the issues she is currently facing are not about her, but about the integrity of Nigeria’s democracy.
“I ask the public to dismiss these rumors and publications, since they do not reflect my position. My dedication to truth, justice, and the people I represent is unwavering.

“This isn’t just about me; it’s about the integrity of our democracy. I will not be bullied or coerced into acquiescence by false narratives,” she said.
Akpoti-Uduaghan thanked members of her constituency for their solidarity and encouraged Nigerians to be aware of disinformation.
She stated that all official statements would be made directly through her verified social media accounts.
Akpoti-Uduaghan added, “I am grateful for my people’s support and solidarity. Rest confident that I will continue to fight for what is right and just.
