With everything ready for Governor Peter Mbah and his political associates to attend the All Progressives Congress on Tuesday (today), Nugu is ecstatic.

On Tuesday, a statement revealed this. The statement claims that Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Vice-President Kashim Shettima are the ones who welcomed Mbah into the party.

Others include governors, ministers, federal MPs, appointees, and the APC National Working Committee, which is chaired by national chairman Nentawe Yilwatda.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo and other influential groups in the state have supported Mr. Mbah’s decision to join the APC.

According to the statement, Augustine Nnamani, the former chairman of the party in Enugu, insisted that the PDP was to responsible for starting the mass departure from the party.

According to the party’s long-standing custom, the chairman said that by refusing to acknowledge Sunday Udeh-Okoye as national secretary, the party “mistreated and betrayed the people of the South-East” and Mr. Mbah.

The PDP gave preference to a select group of individuals in Abuja over those in the South-East. Mbah left the party if its decision was not honored, as stated in their region’s May communique,” the statement continued.

It criticized the PDP’s instability and regional injustice, which had lost the party one of Nigeria’s top-performing governors and caused the PDP to lose everything after dominating the five South-East states.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide in Enugu also praised Mr. Mbah “for taking the bold step of joining the ruling APC,” the statement continued.
