In other news, Davido, a Nigerian musician, has spoken out about the harsh criticism he received in his own country because of his affluent background. In a recent podcast interview, the singer disclosed that if his affluent upbringing had been well-known at the time, it may have posed a significant challenge to his early musical career.
Davido clarified that he had already recorded a number of successful songs and amassed a sizable fan base by the time the world realized how wealthy he was. He claimed that this early momentum protected him from criticism that may have thwarted his goals.

Davido insisted that nothing could have prevented him from pursuing music in spite of the criticism. He highlighted his intense love for the work and declared that he would have persisted even in the face of difficult circumstances.
The celebrated artist also considered the difficulties of celebrity, comparing his experience to a change in power. He claims that when you’re rising, people tend to back you, but once you’re at the top, they start to turn against you.
Despite constant criticism, Davido has managed to stay successful in the music business, creating hit after hit and retaining a devoted following.
“I am the most criticized artist in Nigeria,” Davido declared. I mean, I have been burning for a long time. They were first unaware of my dad’s wealth. Therefore, for me, the stigma associated with a wealthy child performing music wasn’t as severe as it ought to have been.
People were unaware of my father’s wealth. I had already recorded three successful songs before they discovered my dad’s wealth, so it was too late.
But all I wanted to do was perform music. Even if I had to end myself homeless, I didn’t care. That was all I wanted to do at that moment. I would not be stopped by anything.
People began to despise me over time because my dad is wealthy. However, it continues to work out and I continue to release quality music.
“Everyone experiences criticism once they become the best at anything. People vote for you because they like you and you are running for office. However, they despise you once you are elected president.
