Tinubu’s Good Work Driving Opposition Politicians To APC – Women Leader, Alile
Mary Alile, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC) National Women Leader, has claimed that the influx of opposition politicians into her party is due to President Bola Tinubu’s excellent job.
Mrs. Alile reportedly praised former governor Ifeanyi Okowa and Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for distancing themselves from the opposition PDP.
The APC’s National Women Leader said in a statement on Thursday that opposition party chieftains and members from throughout the country had been increasingly joining the party.
She claimed that a new era in Delta State politics had begun with the widespread defection in Delta.
More than 500 members of the Labour Party (LP), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Young People’s Party (YPP), and All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) have defected to the APC in Bende Federal Constituency in Abia State, one of several other states where significant defections to the APC have occurred.
The APC now has a stronger representation in the state legislature after four members of the Edo State House of Assembly who were formerly members of the PDP and LP switched to the party.
“Kogi State: The APC’s grassroots support has grown as former PDP governorship candidate Joseph Ameh Erico joined the party in Olamaboro Local Government Area with a large number of followers.

About 200 members of the PDP, including well-known individuals like Hon. Abdullahi Mohammed Ricco, a former member of the House of Representatives, have defected to the APC in Munya Local Government Area in Niger State.
Prominent members of the PDP, including as Alhaji Sahabi Bojo-Bodinga in Sokoto and Hajiya Madina Shehu in Zamfara, have led large numbers of supporters to the APC in Sokoto and Zamfara States, strengthening the party’s position in these areas.
Additionally, hundreds of members of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) and PDP in Ondo State had switched to the APC in advance of the election, she said, indicating a change in political loyalty.
President Tinubu’s innovative leadership and unshakable dedication to national development have been crucial in drawing new members to the party, Alile added.
The National Working Committee (NWC) of the party and its women’s organizations around the country were praised by her for their grassroots mobilization efforts.
Additionally, we applaud the National Chairman of the APC and the whole National Working Committee for their calculated attempts to promote inclusivity and togetherness inside the party.
“I acknowledge and honor the crucial role that women have played during this revolutionary time as the National Woman Leader. The foundation of the APC’s growing power has been its commitment to grassroots advocacy and mobilization. To ensure our party’s continued success and expansion, we must keep empowering and assisting women,” she continued.
