According to Tiwa Savage, a Nigerian female Afrobeats singer, she is underappreciated for her important contributions to the music business.
The award-winning musician, who is widely considered the “Queen of Afrobeats,” reportedly revealed this in a recent episode of the “Offair Show,” which is co-hosted by Gbemi and Toolz.
The “Malo” crooner believes she is deserving of more recognition than she is currently receiving.
“Do you think you’ve gotten your flowers from the industry?” Toolz asked.
Savage answered, “No. I’m sorry, I don’t.”
Tiwa Savage, meanwhile, recently disclosed that when she initially heard the song “Dorobucci,” she wasn’t impressed.
She claimed that in the hotel where they were staying, Don Jazzy, the boss of Mavin Records, was playing the song’s incomplete version.
In a NotJustOk interview, Savage said she thought the song was “crap.”
The single mother, however, claimed that she was astounded by how much “Dorobucci” had changed when she finally went back and heard the finished version.
“Don’t know if people know this, but ‘Dorobucci,’ I had Don Jazzy playing that in the hotel when we were in Dubai for my wedding, and I didn’t want to tell him, but I thought it was such a crap song,” she confessed.
She recalled a similar incident involving her hit song Eminado, which she had initially questioned as well.
