Two Killed, One Injured In Trailer Crash Along Ijebu-Ode–Ibadan Road
The Ijebu-Ode/Ibadan Road was the scene of an accident at Idi Ayunre that claimed the lives of no fewer than two persons.
Sources claim that the incident happened on Saturday.
Three persons were crushed when a Kulum Quarry trailer at Olohunde Ige Village lost control, according to information obtained.
While the other two were taken to the hospital, one of the victims passed away immediately.
According to information obtained, the third victim had their limb severed, while the second individual passed away in the hospital.
Some irate young people in the neighborhood staged a demonstration and blocked the road as a result.
But during his visit to the area on Monday, Engineer Akeem Olatunji, the Chairman of the Oluyole Local Government Area, urged for composure.
Speaking to the crowd, Olatunji promised that his government would do everything in its power to hold the driver accountable.
Additionally, he clarified that he would endeavor to guarantee that the business pays the victims’ families.
Olatunji also urged the local youngsters to maintain their composure and to refrain from any acts of disrespect.
“This is another preventable tragedy,” he said. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ families. It is unacceptable for anyone to lose a loved one in this way, especially when it was avoidable.
“We can appreciate your rage, but we need to act properly. Justice will be done, I promise.
