VeryDarkMan Accuses Dangote Group of Abandoning Student Crushed by Truck for 11 Months

A well-known social media blogger and activist, Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, or VDM, has claimed that the Dangote Group left a 22-year-old woman in Auchi, Edo State’s Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital after she was smashed by the company’s truck driver.

VeryDarkMan posted a video of the hospitalized victim at the hospital on Monday on his Instagram account.

He said that the victim, whose identity was kept a secret, had medical costs totaling more than N5 million while receiving treatment at the Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital.

He mentioned that he participated in the Auchi demonstration against Dangote’s truck movement.

The activist insisted that the company’s management provide for the needs of all Dangote truck victims.

When we arrived to Auchi, Edo State’s Irrua Specialist Teaching Hospital, we discovered a 22-year-old girl who had been crushed while pursuing her project and had been left behind by Dangote’s careless unlicensed driver. Dangote has abandoned her, and she has been in the hospital for 11 months with bills totaling more than 5 million naira.

Inform everyone that if the victims of Dangote’s unlicensed truck drivers are not adequately cared for by @dangotegroup, we will not permit any Dangote trucks to enter Auchi today. @aliko_dangotegcon, You are in charge of security services and are the wealthiest guy in Africa, therefore we can’t fight you. All we’re asking is that you accept responsibility,” he stated.

As of the time this story was filed, Dangote Group had not yet addressed the accusation.

This occurs just days after Phyna Otabor, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 7, criticized Dangote Group for the crushing of her sister Ruth by the company’s truck in the Auchi neighborhood of Edo State.

However, in a statement three days ago, Dangote Group promised to cover Ruth Otabor’s whole medical bill.

The Dangote Group’s refinery is preparing to introduce 4,000 brand-new compressed natural gas trucks for direct fuel distribution across the country at the same time as the accidents involving its trucks.

Nevertheless, the program that was originally scheduled to start on August 15th has not yet begun.

According to the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, or IPMAN, Dangote Refinery was unable to start its petrol and diesel distribution program on Friday, August 15, 2025, because of truck numbers.

According to the allegation, several cargoes of the trucks have been sent to Dangote Refinery.
