Wike: My Political Opponents in PDP, APC, ADC Will Not Sleep Easy
Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has promised to continue causing his political rivals sleepless nights.
This was said by the Minister on Thursday during a press conference that followed the FCT Executive Committee meeting.
He promised that as long as he is on the side of the law, his rivals in the African Democratic Congress (ADC), the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will have restless nights.
Wike made this statement in defense of his altercation with Lieutenant AM Yerima, a Naval officer, over a land dispute in Abuja’s Gaduwa neighborhood.
The owner, Awwal Gambo (retd), a former chief of naval staff, was making changes to the piece of property designated for parks and recreation.
The FCT Administration’s attempts to prevent laborers from unlawfully altering the property from its initial allocation were unsuccessful because military officers were assigned to the site and kept them from doing their duties.
Disappointed by this action, Wike and his team attacked the location, but Yerima and the military officers blocked their passage.
Wike and Yerima got into a furious dispute over the military commanders’ actions, which later turned into a nationwide outcry.
“I have no regret for my political opponents, and I will continue to make them have sleepless nights, whether you are in PDP, APC, or ADC,” Wike stated.
“As long as I’m abiding by the law, I have no regrets. If you want to bring any ethnicity or color, that’s your business.”
